EXCEL
Editing Data
If you need to change the data in a
cell you can either use the Formula Bar at the top of the Excel screen to edit
the contents, double-click on the cell to bring up a flashing cursor in that
cell or press F2 to bring up the cursor in the cell.
When you have finished making your changes you can press the
Enter
key or click on the green tick beside the formula bar to update the cell.
The same principles of editing apply even when you have a formula in a
cell, either technique can be used.
The image below shows cell contents
being edited in the formula bar. By clicking in the formula bar you can
move the flashing cursor to edit the cell's contents as you would in a word
processor. If you are happy with your changes, either click on the red
tick to the left of the formula bar or press your Enter key. If you
make a mistake and want to return the cell to its original contents, either
click the red cross or press your Esc key.
