Copying only Visible Cells
If you have hidden rows or columns
and then copy the range containing the hidden details you will find that the
hidden data is copied as well (although only values, not formulas, will be
copied), this also happens with features such as grouping and subtotals where
data can be expanded and collapsed to only show the summary items. You will also find that hidden details are copied even if you have
protected the worksheet. In order
to copy only the visible details, you need to click on the Edit drop-down
menu and choose Go To (or press
CTRL and
G
together).

Click on the Special button at the bottom of the window and a
window appears as shown below.

Select the Visible cells
only bullet and click OK, you can now perform your copy function
and only the visible cells will be copied. When you paste the copied cells
they will be placed next to each other as they appear when the rows/columns are
hidden or the outline is collapsed.
